Heimsókn til Parísar / A home visit to Paris

Það er svo margt skemmtilegt að sýna hér að ég veit varla hvar ég á að byrja. Þær hönnunarlausnir sem arkitektastofan Septembre hefur útfært í þessari Parísaríbúð hafa allar útpældan tilgang. Íbúðin er aðeins með glugga á einum vegg og því gæti ég trúað að áskorunin hafi verið að ná birtunni inn í öll herbergin. Ílangt form íbúðarinnar hefur einnig stjórnað ýmsu varðandi skipulag.

There are so many neat ideas here that I hardly know where to begin. The design solutions that the architectural firm Septembre has implemented in this Parisian loft have all a well thought out purpose. The challenge must have been getting the daylight to flow through the flat since there are windows on only one wall. The narrow floor plan must have been a controlling factor as well.

The loft has two bedrooms, one bathroom plus a separate toilet room and a large, open space including a kitchen, dining area, living room and a home office. Storage cabinets and bookshelves go from floor to ceiling on the windowless wall accessed by a steel ladder. A trendy and functional solution. The kitchen has an all white island with the back wall and cabinets black. I would have to add a couple of wall hung upper cabinets but pay attention to the window on the wall. Behind it we have the bathroom.

Við hinn enda alrýmisins er gluggaveggur úr stálrömmum sem skilur að svefnherbergin frá stofunni. Sjá hér eldri blogg færslu um álíka gluggaveggi. Hvíttað plankaparkett skapar léttleika og hreinan stíl. Langi gluggabekkurinn er geymsla sem og sæti. Við endann heldur topp platan áfram og myndar skrifborð.

At the other end we see a metal cased window wall that separates the bedrooms from the living room. Here you can read more about industrial type glass walls. The white washed plank wood flooring gives the area a clean and lofty look. The long window bench double functions as extra storage . At the very end it transforms into a desk.

The desk has a pull-out keyboard tray and ventilation slots for the heat from the radiator.

Light- and airflow between the living room and bedrooms is guaranteed by using walls of windows that open and the thick draperies provide both privacy and sound absorption. A window on the wall between the two bedrooms ensures natural daylight into the master bedroom within.

Fataherbergi með lokuðum skápum fyrir framan baðherbergið fyrir föt og lín.                 A walk through closet area outside the bathroom with ample storage for clothes and linens.

The bathroom is bright with white tiles. The window between the kitchen and the bathroom connects the two spaces and provides natural daylight.

Grunnteikningin sýnir skipulagið vel og birtuvandinn sem hönnuðir stóðu frammi fyrir hefur að mínu mati verið einstaklega vel leystur.

The floor plan shows us the remodeled layout and the challenge of bringing the daylight throughout the loft has in my view been well implemented.
