Gulur er einn af þremur frumlitunum en hinir eru rauður og blár. Guli liturinn er bjartur, glaðlegur og hreinn. Þetta er orkugefandi litur sem er oftast skær og sterkur en vissulega er hægt að dempa hann og mýkja. Ég er mjög hrifin af notkun gula litsins því liturinn gleður, hann kemur á óvart og hann sker sig úr umhverfi sínu.
Yellow is one of three primary colors, the other two being red and blue. The yellow color is bright, happy and pure. It is an energizing color, usually vibrant and strong but can be toned down and softened. I really like the usage of yellow because it delights, surprises and stands out.
Til að ná þessum áhrifum þarf að hugsa um heildina. Hanna verður allt umhverfið með litinn í huga. Ákveða þarf hvort sá guli eigi að vera aðalatriðið eða óvænta atriðið. Niðurstaðan er sú að hvort sem við notum litinn í veggmálningu, húsgagni eða flísum þá er sá guli stórkostlegur og lífgar upp á öll herbergi eins og meðfylgjandi myndir sýna.
In order to achieve those effects one has to take the whole space into consideration when designing. We need to decide whether the yellow should be the main attention or the surprise effect. Bottom line; whether we use the yellow color as wall paint, on furniture or tiles the yellow is fabulous and livens up every room as the following photos show.
