Vissulega eru til merkilegri aðgerðir en uppröðun húsmuna á heimilinu en það verður þó að segjast að rétt uppröðun þeirra getur gerbreytt útliti húsgagnsins sem þeir standa á og einnig fært meiri athygli á munina sjálfa.  Þú færð vonandi stíliseringu í takt við flottustu myndir í innanhússtímaritum með eftirfarandi ráðum.

Til að einfalda texta skrifa ég út frá uppröðun á gangnaborði en ráðleggingarnar eiga við uppröðun húsmuna á hvaða fleti sem er.

There are more important things to do then arranging your decorative accessories at home, I know! But arranging them correctly can literally change the piece of furniture they stand on as well as draw more attention to the smaller decorative items. You should be able to decorate as fancy as you see done in design magazines by following a few simple rules. To simplify my text I write as we were decorating a side table but these tricks work for all sorts of furniture with a flat surface.

Nr. 1

Búðu til litlar grúppur af smáhlutum í stað þess að raða þeim í röð eftir endilöngu borðinu. Grúppa getur verið eitt par af misháum hlutum eða allt upp í fimm til sex. Það fer allt eftir stærð og gerð munanna. Í hverri grúppu skal hafa í huga að hlutir séu misháir, að dýpt borðsins sé notað í röðun svo sumir húsmunir standa nálægt vegg en aðrir við borðbrún. Þannig myndast dýpt í uppröðuninni.

Make small groups of items instead of lining them up in a row. A group can be a pair of different height items or items up to five or six pieces. All depending on size and shape.  Items in each group should vary in height and use the depth of the table to arrange some closer to the wall and others infront.

Nr. 2

Bil milli muna eða grúppna er mikilvægt. Það má ekki vera of mikið, ekki of lítið og allt í samræmi við hlutina sjálfa. Flott ráð sem segir ekki neitt! Það er nefnilega ekki hægt að gefa málsetningar þar sem hvert borð er mislangt, hver hlutur misstór og umhverfi margvísleg. Hér er nauðsynlegt að prófa sig áfram og færa til eftir þörfum.

The space between items or groups is important. It should not be too much, not too little and all in accordance to the items themselves. Great tip that doesn’t tell you anything! It is impossible to give a correct measurement to keep in mind since no table is the same size, items vary in form and surroundings diverse. You need to go through trial and error to succeed.

Nr. 3

Ef að húsmunir eru fremur litlir eða fáir er tilvalið að nota bækur til að lyfta þeim upp. Það virkar jafn vel fyrir stærri hluti en þá skal varast að ofhlaða ekki á bókunum. Bækur geta verið afar fallegar sem hluti af uppröðun. Hér getið þið lesið meira um uppröðun með notkun bóka.

If decorative items are all small or few the best trick is to use books as a pedestal. It works also for bigger objects but then we have to be careful not to overload the books. Books can be very pretty as a part of the decoration. Here you can read more about using books as decor.

Nr. 4

Hengið endilega mynd eða spegil á vegg fyrir ofan og varist þá að myndin hangi ekki of hátt uppi. Myndin á að spila með uppröðun borðsins og allt á að mynda eina heild. Ef myndin er lítil er yfirleitt fallegast að hafa hana til hliðar við miðju borðsins en ef hún er stór á að miðjusetja hana.

It works really well to hang artwork or a mirror above but don‘t hang it too high. It should play a part in the whole decoration and connect with the items on the table. If the frame is small offside it but hang it in the middle of the table if it is large.

Nr. 05

Þríhyrningurinn er vinsæll í uppröðun og með hann í huga er erfitt að klúðra uppröðun húsmuna. Hæsta horn rétthyrnds þríhyrningsins er þá við annan enda borðsins og nemur við hæsta punkt hlutarins á borðinu – athugið : aldrei hafa hæsta punkt á miðju borðsins en þá væri um jafnarma þríhyrning að ræða-  og grunnlínan miðast við borðflötinn. Efsta lína muna á borðinu lækkar þá í takt við hallandi langhlið þríhyrningsins. Línan er að sjálfsögðu ósýnileg og hlutir mega alveg standa ögn upp fyrir hana. Myndir skýra þetta vel.

The triangle is very popular in shaping the whole look of the decor and with it in mind it’s hard to mess up the final result. The highest peak of a right triangle is at one end of the table with the top peak starting at the top of the highest object.  Avoid putting the highest object in the center of a table. The bottom líne of the triangle alignes with the table. The items on the table gradually lower in height aligned with the triangular line. The line is of course invisible and items may of course cut it in some places. Photos explain this well.
